Buckland Class enjoyed a visit to St Radigunds Abbey and an invigorating walk in the countryside. Mrs Ward drove the class to St Radigunds Abbey in the mini bus and waved us good bye. The children were interested to find the ruins of an old building there and we talked about why it was there. We then used our map to head off across the fields via the public footpath to find our way to Coombe Valley. After coming to a fork in the path we consulted out map again and set off. Having negotiating our way through a farm we paused to chat to the friendly people in the cottages and look at their lovely dogs.
Heading up hill we came across and a bright yellow field at the top and pushed on towards the woods. We were rewarded with a magical woodland of bluebells and flowers as we started to head towards home. After a long walk through the wood and more consultation of the map we eventually found our way out and the children were relieved to see Mrs Ward in the mini bus who had come to take us back to school. We arrived back weary but happy.
