Reception children are learning ballet this term. They have been practicing their plies and stretching their toes. They are really enjoying learning how to stand with correct posture, put their feet in first and second position and dance in time with the music. Well done reception you are wonderful ballerinas.
Reception have been enjoying themselves in ballet again. They have been practicing their plies and stretching their toes. We have walked tall like fairy princesses and marched like soldiers. We have also been working on gallops with our partner and par de cheval. We are learning to listen to the music so we can keep in time with our claps and movements.
This term we have been concentrating more on where we stand on the court. Some of us are better at the back as we have a good, strong throw, and some of us are better when we're near the middle of the court because we're really good at dodging the balls! We've been building on our skills, and hopefully we can go to the upcoming tournament.
Phoebe- "I know to run to the middle and stay there because I'm really good at dodging the fast balls."
Freddie- "I'm getting really good at catching the balls to get people back in the game."
We've had a lot of fun this term playing dodgeball. We are beginning to learn some of the rules so we know when we can get each other out, and when we're allowed back in as well!
Harvey- "It's fun throwing balls at each other! We've been practising to throw the ball so it hits the right part. It's not allowed to hit you in the head!"
Billy- "I've got a lot better at dodging the balls."
Elizabeth- "It's been a lot of fun this term, I can't wait to do it again next term as well."
Liam- "I really liked it because I didn't know that I could bowl that well or hit the ball as often as I did. I feel so much more confident when I play now."
Jake- "I didn't know how to play rounders when I first started, but now I know the rules and I've scored lots of rounders!"
Conner- "My throwing and catching is really good now. I hit the ball on the first time!"
Amy- "I prefer being on the fielding team rather than the batting team. Miss said my throwing is very accurate."
